TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE

These terms and conditions will apply to all transactions and are to the exclusion of all other terms and conditions of purchase unless otherwise agreed in writing. They do not affect your statutory rights.

DELIVERY
All delivery dates and times quoted are approximate. Whilst every practical effort will be made to accommodate customers requirements no guarantee of time of day can be given for delivery or fitting.

No claims will be accepted for inconvenience, loss etc. caused by unexpected or unavoidable delays in delivery or fitting. Cancellation will not be accepted once goods have been reserved, stored, cut or despatched by ourselves, or by our suppliers, without loss of deposit.

Orders are only accepted on this basis.

PLEASE MAKE ADEQUATE PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY
Floor fitting can only commence in adequately prepared rooms. To ensure an efficient installation please make us aware of any problem you may have, before the day of fitting. Our price presumes free and uninterrupted access to site, power and light.

Clearing rooms, removing furniture, uplifting and/or re-fitting old floor coverings, repairs to floors and property, joinery work to doors and thresholds, electrical and plumbing work etc. are not included unless previously agreed and clearly specified herewith in writing and can be charged for.

We reserve the right in extreme cases to postpone installations until adequate preparation has been completed at purchaser’s expense. Resultant abortive journeys will be charged at current minimum charge rate and be made payable before installation proceeds.

No responsibility can be accepted for accidental damage caused by fitters having to manhandle furniture and appliances unless such work was previously agreed and specified in writing.

Claims in respect of damage will not be accepted unless made to the fitter before leaving the premises and confirmed in writing within 24 hours. Where joinery work to doors is undertaken responsibility cannot be accepted for any chipping of paint, veneer etc. which may occur.

Storage heaters should be switched off 24 hours before fitting floor coverings. No claims will be accepted for accidental damage to underfloor pipes and cables unless the position of such is clearly indicated on the floor prior to fitting.

FLOORING WIDTHS
Widths may vary in manufacture and are approximate. Weaving tolerances
conform to BS 3655:1981+A1:2009 allowing variation of ∓ 1.25% CUSTOMER SIZE No responsibility can be accepted for fitting difficulties arising from errors or inadequate tolerances in cases of customer specified sizes. If you are self-fitting check carefully, no exchange can be made or claims accepted once you have cut materials.

PLANNING AND FITTING
We assume authority to plan and carry out fitting by the method we consider most suitable to the circumstances in accordance with good trade practice and Flooring
British Standard Code of Practice BS5325:2021.

In cases where customers specials requirements prove Impractical or in circumstances beyond our control, we reserve the right to complete the installation by the most practical means available to meet the circumstances.

All workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months.

COLOUR MATCHING
Samples cuttings and swatches of fabric and carpets etc. are from typical production batches which can vary within normal commercial tolerances. Colour variations are unavoidable from one dye batch to another. Exact colour matching cannot be guaranteed from different dye batches, different widths or if ordered at different times.

JOINS/MATCHING
Queries regarding pile direction and any necessary joins must be discussed
before the order is placed and all special requirements agreed and specified in writing. Carpets and fabrics made in different widths or supplied at different times cannot be guaranteed to match for colour or pattern and are supplied to best available match.

Due to method of construction it is impossible to guarantee a pattern match with printed carpets. When a pattern match is not possible the best mock match will be made. In hall, stairs and landings, due to the waste which
can occur with patterned carpets, no undertaking is given to match the pattern where stairs meet the hall or landing, unless agreed and specified in writing at the time of purchase.

When planning hall, stairs and landing from broadloom widths, stairs may be fitted in more than on piece.

SHADING
All pile fabrics including carpets especially plain grounds are liable (as in velvet) to
shading. That is to show light and dark patches arising from unequal crushing of the pile in use.

Light and delicate colours are liable to become soiled in wear and so apparently to lose colour. No care on the part of the markers can prevent these characteristics which are inherent in all pile fabrics, no matter how well made, and no responsibility will be accepted for complaints arising from these effects.

FLATTENING
Carpets are soft products and flattening of the pile will occur as a natural result of
use. All pile fabrics will flatten to greater or lesser degree dependent on the amount of traffic to which it is subjected. Areas where foot traffic twists and turns are especially prone to such changes in appearance.

These changes do not alter the durability of the carpet.

CRUSHED PILE
During transport and storage pile may become slightly crushed and this will
show as shaded bands across the pile. These will disappear as the carpet settles into its new environment and as the pile is flexed through regular use and vacuum cleaning.
